Additional Ladder Concepts and considerations

The top money making ideas will take precedence and will be prioritized until incoming money meets demand.

Some of these ideas may not make the final cut and thus may never materialize.

There will likely be two versions of the main 'game' celebs play. Html and Java.  The lead programmer for the company will be skilled in video game design.

There will be many 'mini' games Celebs and users can play on the ladder. Celebs who want to play literati or scrabble type games with another user online will often decline invitations to do so until the price is right. The price will be right when enough users pool their points together to make it worth the 5-15 minutes of their time to play whatever small mini game that is in question. A user that votes with his own points qualifies to be chosen to play the Celeb. The person that invests the most points to play a celeb at a game will be chosen to play the celeb but must respond to the invitation within 10 seconds or the next user will be chosen.

Celebs choose the games they're comfortable playing.

A user may "Click to invest points to play Aston Kutcher at literati" based on the many options of fun a celeb may take interest in. Points invested aren't locked in until the Celeb "clicks to play" the chosen contestant.

Anyone can view the game and the celeb then receives additional points for each viewer.

There will be a built in 'hype' system for real time games featured on the site.

"My favorite Answer" is just a loose name for a game planned to be within the Celeb ladder.

When a user enters the 'game' they simply press 'play' and a screen loads to show all the available celebs. Celebs whose status is set to 'available' will be able to 'Tee off' against other celebs for points in real time. A timer will be set.  Users submit general questions and vote on the questions they like the most by clicking on a 'thumbs up' icon. The game chooses a question every 50 seconds, The celebs have 30 seconds to post their answer and users vote on the best one. Users have 10 seconds to choose their favorite answer. Once the 'favorite answer' is determined the celeb who wrote it will be unveiled and awarded the points. This game will likely be limited to 3 celebs for 10 rounds before the celeb is able to choose if they want to play it again.

When a Celeb becomes available to play the real-time functions of the ladder they will select "available". Available Celebs will be listed among a list of other available celebs. Users will then be able to mass points to get them to participate in the games they want them to play.

When a Celeb logs in all the users that 'fan' that celeb will get a notification of the log on (unless they disable this setting in their personal settings).

When a popular celeb clicks available they will expect to see immediate bids for their attention.

If a celeb accepts a 'hot bid' invitation (ie 2500 points for Literati(2500 if the celeb wins, 1000 for the user if the user wins), 2700 points for chess(+2700 bonus for winning), 4000(+4000) for hearts, the celeb will likely choose hearts when they consider it will earn them the most amount of points per minute).  The celeb must play what they have commited to to redeem the points. The points will be tied up until the celeb has completed the commitment. If the Celeb doesn't complete the commitment the points will be returned to the users that vested them after 1-3 hours(or sooner depending on the game).

Users will be rated for their skill in each game available to play on the ladder so bonus points will scale according to the handicap.

Users earn profile 'trophies' that will state things like "I beat Shaq at Literati" with additional details viewable when another viewer scrolls his mouse over the tital. Users will be able to save replays of their games with celebs to their computer and can purchase server storage to show everyone that wants to watch what they did.

Users that play the ladder will have a series of icons to show how decorated they are at their participation within the ladder (like points earned per season, most blue cards acquired, most purple cards acquired, most responses from Celebs acquired etc etc)

Personal or 'tedious to acquire' Information users give through the website will be incentivized by awarding greater amounts of points. The hardest points for a person to acquire will be purple and blue points. Blue points can be combined to cash in for a blue card, purple combined for a purple card. Blue cards can be used while bidding to double the points a user uses to bid on what they want from a celeb, purple cards may triple or quadruple those points.

Some games will have a cap a user can put down for a celeb. Blue and purple cards will be heavy bargaining chips.

Because the main web page will advertise both the 'Celeb of the hour' and the Celeb at the top of the ladder, Celebs that aren't trying to contend for the # 1 spot will still find value in the website because they can use earn points to redeem for marketing time.  Celebs will use points to 'buy' things within the virtual parameters of the ladder (like the Celeb of the hour' banner).

The 'Celeb of the Hour' banner will simply be a link to that celebrities customizable channel. Celebs that use the banner will likely calibrate their channel to promote a current endevour (like a TV show, movie or product line). Celebrity channels will be required to maintained within PG standards.

Users that play the ladder will be able to vote on the value or demand of a particular individual fact that has been ommited by the celeb(like height, weight, mailing address, official website etc) so that that fan participants can drive up celeb interest in revealing that fact for good. The facts a celeb directly reveals have more credibility than what a good google search may reveal. Celebs will be required to reveal only truthful data.

When a celeb declines to release a figure (like height), users can stack up points to coerse that Celeb to reveal the figure. The site will carry a long list of stats, figures and personal questions (like the name of their Junior Highschool, towns they've lived in etc).

Celebs at the top of the ladder will become expert at time management and milking the audience for the most points they can for the time they spend playing.

Another game will be called something like: "It's true".

Celebs will be able to milk the audience for additional points in exchange for immediate reveal of stats, figures and details about their self that they haven't yet revealed.

Highlights of the daily ladder experience will be revealed each day.

Hiring:

To have success on this project I must cover many bases when it comes down to the employees I hire. Because most of the project is virtual and will be stored on servers the best way to assemble a good team is to determine how diversified the prospective employees 'coverage' is. Employees with great and diversified ability will be considered over those who aren't as diversified (IE skill sets in programming, security, network administration, graphic design etc).
